FIRST IMPRESSIONS
First Impressions is a coordinated ministry of Windwood Presbyterian Church. The purpose is to help guests in God’s House feel WELCOMED. From the moment they enter until they become members, First Impressions is there for them. This ministry includes greeting, sharing information, ushering, café servants, and the welcome center. Windwood’s First Impressions is dedicated to make being a part of Windwood’s worship and activities a simple process.
Ministry teams serve weekly, for either the 9:30 or 11:00 services. The shift for the 9:30am service is from 9:00-9:35. The shift for the 11:00am service is from 10:30-11:05. Below are descriptions of the ministry teams that currently make up Windwood’s First Impressions.
Greeter Team - This team greets guests at the front and side doors. They are truly the First Impression a guest receives. If you can smile and open a door, you are qualified to serve in this critical ministry position. While the skill set is simple, the impact is immense.
Atrium Host Team - These team members provide personal attention to new guests by escorting families with young children to the Children’s Center, answering questions, familiarizing guests to our church.
Welcome Center Team - This two person team serves inside the welcome center desk. They distribute materials, help answer questions, work alongside the atrium host to help connect our guests with the right information or the right people. They also communicate information/needs to church staff.
Holy Grounds Set Up Team - This two person team is critical to a great Sunday morning experience. They make the coffee and set up the café. This shift is from 8:00am - 9:00am.
Holy Grounds Clean Up Team - This two person team cleans up the café and the kitchen including wiping counters and washing the dishes. These shifts are from 11:15 to 11:30 (approximately).
First Impressions is a great opportunity for both long-time members and new members to be able to serve God in a simple but powerful capacity. Come a few minutes early for your regularly attended worship service and you serve as a vital part of making God’s ministry grow at Windwood.
