Walk with Jesus in His First-Century World

Over 7 sessions, challenge the way you read the accounts of Jesus through teaching videos that take you to locations in Israel like Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, Gethsemane, Jerusalem, and the road to Emmaus. The Difficult Doctrine of the Love of God: a Lenten Book Study with Kathy Lee

God is love (1 John 4:8). As little children, we learn “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.” These are easy words to say, and yet they are very difficult to explain, particularly when tragedy strikes. Gordon Lightfoot in his ballad, The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald, asks: “Does anyone know where the love of God goes when the waves turn the minutes to hours?” Have you or somebody you know suffered a tragedy that turns minutes into hours? In such times as these, what does it really mean to say to others, “God loves you.”

D.A. Carson dives deep into scripture to deliver four sermons on the love of God in his book, The Difficult Doctrine of the Love of God. He offers explanations of why it is so difficult to talk with today’s unbelievers about God’s love because of today’s culture. He shares five different aspects of God’s love with us that attempt to help us “comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge.”(Ephesians 3:18-19). He gives us some ways to think more deeply about God’s love. Come and join us as we pray together, read this book, and learn how to understand God’s love in all phases of our lives. Books will be provided at our first session.

A Leisurely Stroll Through the Old Testament Pt. 2 with Dave Waskowiak

Like Part 1, Part 2 examines the archeological, documentary, and other historical evidence that supports several of the Biblical accounts in the Old Testament. Part 1 ended with Joshua. Part 2 will begin with Judges and a look at the archeological evidence for Judge Abimelech’s mass murder of about 1000 people by burning them in a tower. We will then examine whether the so-called “Amarna Letters” reveal King Saul, the first anointed king of Israel. Next, we will examine archeological evidence for King David and King Solomon from the United Monarchy period. Then, on to the Divided Monarchy and Pharoah Shishak’s attack on Jerusalem under King Rehoboam, where we will also reveal the likely true identity of Shishak and place him in the Egyptian Chronology. Next, we will examine King Hezekiah’s conflict with the Assyrians, including how Hezekiah fortified Jerusalem to prepare for the attack, and the miracle that saved him and the city. We will end with the Prophet Daniel’s exile to Babylon and deeply dive into his prophecies. His prophecies fall into three categories: kingdoms that were to come for Daniel but are historical for us; the first coming of Jesus; and the End Times. We will also examine Daniel’s End Times prophesies against passages from Matthew, Luke, 2 Thessalonians, and Revelation to find common ground among them.

Defining Masculinity in 2025 with Pastor Tres Adams

What does it mean to be man in 2025 America? How do we define masculinity? The best place to begin in answering these questions is with the Creator of men. What do God and His Word tell us about being a man, and fulfilling the roles to which men are called—husband, father, son, citizen, as well as others? How does God define masculinity? This class, while targeted toward men, is open to anyone who interested in studying God’s Word as it pertains to defining men in today’s world and culture. Let’s discuss the role of men and the roles of men in your life as described by the Master Definer of Men.

Exodus 31:3-5/ The Story of Bez and O – Exodus 35:30-35 Bezalel and Oholiab:

Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the Lord has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills — to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts. And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.

The B-I-B-L-E: Delighting in God’s Word with Bryan Darwin

If the Bible indeed is God's Word, we cannot do better than reading, pondering, grasping, applying and delighting in that which our King has given. Together, we'll address some crucial questions, like:

  • What do we mean when we say the Bible is the Word of God?

  • How did this book come together?

  • Don't some groups have different versions?

  • What about all those "lost" books?

  • Which translation should I choose?

  • Can I truly "delight" in the Bible?

  • How can I better understand the Bible (without going to seminary)?
