Concerning Race

What is Windwood’s position on the cultural distinctions made concerning race?

Our society often defines race as a mixture of physical, behavioral, and cultural attributes that are genetically inherited across generations.  It separates people into different racial groupings based on these attributes and makes judgments on the character and nature of individuals in those groupings.

Genesis tells us we can all trace our ancestry back to the first couple — Adam and Eve.  This means we are connected to each other through the same biological family tree.   Therefore, we must treat all people with the dignity and respect due to beings made in the image of God.  We are one in the Body of Christ which must never be divided by appearance, language, or ethnic origins.

In our fellowship groups and ministries, Windwood’s focus is on cultivating hearts for God and on service to the benevolent efforts of this church.  Spiritual leadership is not a quality that is bound by ethnicity.
